The boxes need a physical update. The following needs to be done:

  • Replace the audio mixer with revision G
  • Ensure that there is a short 3.5mm jack between the hagibis and the audio mixer
  • Ensure that the HDMI cable from radxa is connected on port 1 (not the one next to the USB-C port) to the external HDMI port
    (add more as needed)

Here is a more detailed guide for the upgrade.

Recipe:

  • Replace screws that hold the baseplate to the box with B3.5X4.5/BN14065
  • Replace audio mixer with revG
  • Replace cable ties with onlyfans bracket
  • Replace cable between audio board and display by a longer one that goes through a ferrite
  • Add 3.5mm jack cable between the hagibis and the audio mixer
  • Add or replace the HDMI cable between the radxa and the external HDMI port
  • Replace front panel with new one
  • Clamp ferrites to cables in the box (power cable, usb cable, maybe HDMI cable)
  • Replace cable ties that have been cut with new ones

Ingredients:

  • B3.5X4.5/BN14065 screws
    • Buy screws -- These are already bought and are located in a box in @dexterlb's living room
    • Send screws to belgium
  • revG audio mixers
    • Finish manufacturing
    • Ship to belgium
  • ferrited MTA100 audio mixer<->display cables
    • Measure cable length - it is between 38 and 40cm
    • Order test cable from ACOM
    • Test the test cable
    • Order cables from ACOM
    • Manufacture cables
    • Ship cables to belgium
  • onlyfans brackets
    • Buy bolts -- These are already bought and are located in a box in @dexterlb's living room
    • Ship bolts to belgium
    • Redesign the bracket to use the new bolts
    • 3D print loads of new brackets
  • short 3.5mm jack cables
    • Buy cables -- These already exist in belgium
  • clampable ferrites
    • Test if ferrite fixes the taiwan noise issue
    • Buy ferrites
  • short HDMI<->microHDMI cables
    • Order cables
    • Deliver cables to fosdem office (@gerry did this)
  • front panels
    • Design new front panel (@dexterlb and @gerry are working on this)
      • Fix location of front audio jack hole
        • Move it left (towards the XLRs) by 1mm and down by 0.5mm
      • Add fazants
      • Move the XLR labels so that the XLR pin doesn't hide them'
      • Move the USBs hole 0.8mm up and 0.8mm left
    • Lasercut or 3D-print new panels
  • ferrites for low-freq (display, power, etc) cables
  • ferrites for high-freq USB cables
    • Choose
    • Buy
  • screw-in cable ties
    • Buy them from aliexpress -- Bought, in a box at @dexterlb's living room
    • Ship to belgium

- fix stability problem in hw? - https://aio.lv/en/product--vention-conbd--10735521 is the cable that is somewhat stable and long enough for a loop through a ferrite - ferrite - verified working with this cable looped through: e04sr241336a, see attachment - alternative as suggested by dexter: https://www.tme.eu/be/en/details/0461164951/ferrites-for-cables/fair-rite/ - note: - ~stable at 720p with older ms2130 stick - unstable with the pile of ms2130's running the fw as just bought
